Title: Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate Assistant – Part-Time

Purpose: To provide crisis response and support services to sexual assault victims

Duties:

• Responsible for sexual assault on-call response to regional hospitals and/or law enforcement venues in conjunction with established procedures
• Provide input as appropriate to the case management team to facilitate client goal achievement
• Responsible for hotline coverage to include crisis intervention, supportive telephone counseling, information and referrals as appropriate
• Provide phone intake/screening for individuals requesting Agency services
• Responsible for the collection and maintenance of client records and service data
• Appropriate and accurate use and timely submission of all Agency management and client-related forms
• Other duties as assigned by the Confidential Sexual Assault Violence Advocate Coordinator (CSVA Coordinator)

Accountability: The Part-Time Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate Assistant is responsible to the CSVA Coordinator, the Community Services Team Leader, and the client population for the timely, professional, and effective performance of all job duties.

• Experience working with the identified client population or one that is transferable
• Experience in working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Demonstrated sensitivity to issues of social justice
• Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams
• Ability to expand communication style to multiple cultural environments
• Ability to speak a second language valued
• Ability to network with other professionals within and outside the Agency on behalf of the client population
• Willingness to utilize, share and/or develop technology skills
• An ability to work with minimal supervision
• Evening and overnight availability will be necessary
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license and insurability through AVANZAR’s insurance carrier

Education and Experience:

• Prior experience and demonstrated knowledge of sexual assault programs and services
• Minimum of Associates Degree in Social Work or a related field preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
