Job Overview:

AVANCE is seeking Quality Coaches to provide support and training in the fundamentals of small business management to family child care homes through our Shared Services Alliance. This is an exciting opportunity for Family Child Care business owners, consultants, and managers who are skilled communicators and relationship builders to help build the resiliency of child care businesses. Ideal candidates will lean into the work alongside the business owners and position them for long-term success by building business acumen. The Quality Coach will also be responsible for creating a network of Family Child Care Providers within the Shared Services Alliance, and will provide mentoring, coaching, training, technical assistance, and support to Family Child Care Providers.

Job Responsibilities:

The Position: Quality Coaches are responsible for supporting family child care business owners as they work to strengthen their business. Quality Coaches will prioritize helping owners put the systems and structures in place to stabilize and develop their business efforts. In collaboration with the AVANCE Shared Services Advisory Board and child care business owners, Quality Coaches will focus skill building in areas of daily operations strategies and financial planning. The Quality Coach will also implement guidelines, tools, and resources that provide support to Family Child Care Providers for curriculum and instruction.
Identifying Need: Thinking strategically and using strong assessment skills, Quality Coaches are responsible for effectively and efficiently supporting owners as they build and strengthen their business, and connecting them to resources.
Maximize personal small business experience to identify individual provider needs and use this data to offer high-quality, one-on-one support.
Effectively track business data and use it to establish new processes and recommend systems.
Share knowledge of the AVANCE Shared Services Alliance services and comfortably coach providers on ways to access resources.
Goal Setting and Action Planning: Drawing on personal expertise and business acumen, Quality Coaches will advise and guide family child care providers in all fiscal aspects of small business management.
Help providers set and pursue individual goals based on their demonstrated areas for growth.
Support providers as they learn how to analyze cash flow, prepare budgets, and monitor progress toward goals.
Collaborate with providers as they build effective business practices.
Connect providers to centralized resources and encourage them to stay informed of new opportunities.
Facilitating Access: Quality Coaches will support child care providers in leveraging resources to maintain business sustainability.
support and share resources with child care providers, teaching them how to mitigate risks, reduce costs, manage personnel, operate their business efficiently, and take advantage of grant and loan opportunities that are available.
Collaborating and Building Relationships: Much of AVANCEs success is rooted in the strength of collaborative relationships. Quality Coaches foster a culture that values partnership, embraces Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion and Belonging, and is consistent with the values, goals, and objectives of the organization. Quality Coaches will stay in communication with other Quality Coaches to share best practices and learn from each other through group meetings.

As well as, Education Level - 4 Year Degree
Respond to the concerns of providers and meet weekly goals for outreach to providers.
Network in the community building relationships, engaging in public relations activities such as presentations, active committee participation, and information dissemination via various media outlets.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit most of the time with some bending and reaching.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend periodically.
Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers typing and/or writing.
Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e., preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading).
Ability to receive and respond to oral communication.
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Work Environment:

Flexible work environment with option to work from home.
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
Standard office equipment generally used includes:
o Telephone
o Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet
o Printer/Photocopy Machine
o Calculator
May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.
