Medication Technician

Type: Part-Time/PRN

Shift: Various, On-Call

Wage: $18.57-24.23/hr DOE (Plus 5% ASL Proficiency Bonus) 

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee

Location: Avamere Chestnut Lane - 1219 NE 6th Street, Gresham, OR 97030

 

Avamere at Chestnut Lane is a Deaf and DeafBlind Community.

The ideal candidate will be someone proficient in ASL.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide each resident with routine daily health services and medication needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the DHS and according to current policies, procedures, and practices

  • Provide care for residents and assist with updating service plans.

  • Assist with the Life Enrichment Program and encourage residents to participate in activities

  • Respond to resident calls and emergencies promptly and provide first aid assistance

  • Assist in providing a safe environment for residents

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, calm, and joy

  • Assist with daily living activities (i.e., bathing, dressing, and eating)

  • Provide support with residents to caregivers as needed

  • Document and communicate resident changes and complete all reports in a timely manner

  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High-School diploma or equivalent

  • Must be HCA Certified, NAR and/or CNA/NAC

  • Must have or obtain (within 30-days of employment) First Aid & CPR Certification

  • Minimum of one-year of experience in a healthcare setting

  • Must have or obtain (within 30-days of employment) Food Handlers Card

  • Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with elders

  • Ability to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination preferred, but not required

  • Proficient in ASL or willing to learn: 5% bonus available
