About the role

You will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive global communications strategy and plan for the Avalere Health (AH) brand, ensuring our narrative to external and internal audiences is effectively communicated to support organizational goals and initiatives. Working in close partnership with the Executive Committee and senior stakeholders across all our global Capabilities, your role will oversee several key areas including AH brand strategy, corporate communications, marketing, internal communications, and public relations. You will lead a global corporate communications and marketing team to drive effective brand storytelling that resonates with key internal and external stakeholders, including employees, clients, investors, partners, and the healthcare/pharma community.

What you'll do

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight of the global corporate marketing and communications department, including development of strategy, messaging, and narrative as well as oversight of resources and budgets to achieve strategic goals and objectives for the organization.
  • Develop and lead a global communications and marketing strategy (overseeing all internal & external comms activities) for Avalere Health that is aligned with the organization’s key business objectives, creating compelling narrative and ensuring effective messaging on brand, vision, and values.
  • Oversee the ongoing development of brand guidelines and ensure consistent brand messaging across the organization, understanding geographical regulations and cultural nuances, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior stakeholders and the Executive Committee on communications strategy and plans including change management. (e.g. US market knowledge, business change, acquisitions, branding, investors, PR, media).
  • Lead the organization’s public and media relations to develop contacts, manage and increase brand awareness across print and digital channels, including crisis communications management as needed.
  • Oversee the creation and editorial direction of high-quality multi-channel content that is aligned with strategic objectives to engage with target audiences across multiple channels (e.g. print media, company intranet, social media channels, company website, industry publications, partnerships, events).
  • Partner closely with internal teams such as Digital Experience & Technology (DET), Creative and Motion to build strong working relationships regarding asset development, content development, website updates, branding, and wider project deliverables.
About you
  • A deep understanding of the US market (healthcare business environment, consumer behavior, market dynamics/trends, geographic considerations, cultural factors, commercial operations etc.) with demonstrable experience of implementing comprehensive marketing and communications plans that’ll drive brand awareness and help the organization meet key growth targets for capabilities and solutions serving primarily US based/led clients and their international affiliates.
  • Skill Key Awareness: A general understanding of the capability/skill, but due to minimal practical experience, requires supervision. Skilled: Practical working experience in this area, allowing it to be applied in basic routine situations with minimal supervision. Advanced: Extensive experience and knowledge in this area, applying it independently to new and complex situations. Expert: Exceptional technical know-how, responsible for setting organizational strategy in this area. Seen as a thought leader in this space, reviewing external/industry trends and applying this best practice in the organization.
  • Proven strategic expertise at the senior leadership level in a similar role, including managing and aligning communication and marketing strategies with the dynamic requirements of an organization going through change, with a preference to supporting organizations in the process of integrating acquired businesses.
  • A strong track record of successfully developing strong talent and lead them to performing at high levels in creating and executing engaging external and internal communications strategies at a global level, managing multiple key initiatives simultaneously (including marketing campaigns across various digital and social channels).
  • Proven experience in managing PR activities and media relations, including building relationships with key media outlets and handling crisis communications when appropriate.
