About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly experienced and respected individual to further develop business growth in line with our business strategy, building on the foundation of our existing client partnerships and developing new ones to support our growth ambitions. You will shape the Consulting sales and marketing strategy to enhance and evolve our client portfolio. 

The Client Partnerships, Senior Director will embody Avalere Health’s core values and model company behaviors while creating a high performance business and client engagement environment.

In addition to metrics such as pipeline value and sales/orders/wins, you will be responsible for ensuring the opportunities that are pursued and won are within our target levels of profitability.

What you'll do

  • Lead generation to acquire new clients across Consulting
  • Build relationships with procurement functions across large clients to ensure our status as a preferred vendor
  • Develop key account plans to meet or exceed sales growth targets, e.g., gathering and monitoring business intelligence; conducting stakeholder mapping; identifying opportunities for growth (new products, services, therapy areas, geographies) and ways to mitigate challenges; developing a key account action plan
  • Work with the Consulting Practice Area leads to develop plans that meet business key performance indicators (KPIs), drive sustainable growth, and deepen client relationships
  • Provide an expert input into proposals and new business discussions, building relationships with senior clients to expand and enhance accounts and relationships
  • Champion the development and dissemination of our thought leadership, establishing our presence in the market and highlighting our expertise to existing and new clients and team members
  • Manage the Consulting pipeline and ensure sales goals are met
  • Ensure the Consulting pipeline is appropriately balanced across Practice Areas and not too heavily reliant on any one Practice Area or client relationship
  • Develop great relationships with leaders from across Avalere Health, helping to bring teams together to identify new ways to meet client needs and deliver new services to clients
  • Work with the Group Marketing team to raise the profile of Consulting and incorporate brand messaging into client development activities, including developing marketing initiatives and assets that raise awareness of the Consulting offering through content marketing, thought leadership, and media and partnership opportunities
About you
  • 10 years of healthcare related discipline or management with the bulk of the experience in business development and/or client relationship management positions
  • Experience across our three Consulting capabilities: Advisory (Strategy, Insight, Experience Design), Training, and Expert Partnerships, is desirable
  • Proven experience of client development, account management and an ability to drive exceptional business growth
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm and confidence; you'll see the opportunities and take initiative to accomplish more than what has been asked
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and strong alignment with clients and team members
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Financial/commercial management
