Hospital in Dallas has an opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum Pediatric Pulmonology coverage.

Schedule: 13-hour shifts, day and nights available
No call shifts
Daily Volume: P rovider sees ~6 patients on average during the day and 12 overnight
Case Types: 60% Chronic Respiratory Failure, 40% Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Diseases, etc. And - Chronic ventilator patients are admitted to pulmonary for any reason, the only non-ICU floor that accepts ventilated patients. This means you will get to see a large variety of things such as short gut syndrome with TPN dependence, central line infection, seizure disorder, gastroenteritis, PAH, patients on chemotherapy, etc.
Duties: Day shift: Get handoff from off going APP, prepare data and plans for rounds, present patient in rounds with multidisciplinary team, do daily notes, H&Ps/orders for admissions or discharge summaries/discharge orders for discharges, admit and discharge patients, call consults, update families, update handoff sheet for oncoming provider, and update discharge summaries at end of stretch for all assigned patients.
Duties: Night shift: Monitor patients overnight, follow up on labs, do any admissions that come overnight, and round with the night RNs to answer questions or update on any concerns. The provider carries a phone day and night and also is accessible via instant messaging in computer system.

Experience you'll need: MSN or Masters, PNP, ACPNP, PA-C, Must have PICU or Pedi ER or Pedi hospitalist experience, TX license
