Position Summary

Ava is seeking to hire a full-time Salesforce Developer, reporting to the Salesforce and IT Lead. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in developing and customizing Salesforce for various business processes, local development programs, marketing teams, and more. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring that our Salesforce and auxiliary systems are user friendly, suitable for business needs, and secure.

Position Details 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Salesforce Development and Customization:

• Lead the design and development of customized Salesforce solutions. The ability to own technical projects start to finish, collaborate in an agile team, and build on existing infrastructure is very important. 

• Develop and implement custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules and flows to enhance system functionality and user experience. 

• Collaborate in a team that is adopting industry standard Salesforce dev ops processes and automation.

• System Integration and Management:

• Oversee the integration of Salesforce with other systems and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality across platforms.

• Manage Salesforce data feeds and other integrations to maintain data integrity and ensure the accuracy of system information.

• User Support and Training:

• Provide ongoing support to Salesforce users, addressing technical issues, and ensuring optimal platform performance.

• Develop and deliver targeted training to end-users, enhancing their understanding of Salesforce functionalities and encouraging best practices in system usage.

• Create user guides, design documentation, system data flow diagrams, etc. 

• Primary Stakeholders:

• Work closely with various departments, including Power Resources, Compliance, Marketing, Local Development, and IT, to understand their needs and translate business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions.

• Collaborate with the Salesforce Team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that leverage Salesforce capabilities to meet Ava's objectives.

• Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

• Continuously evaluate and enhance Salesforce features and functionalities to support evolving business needs, incorporating best practices and innovative solutions.

• Stay abreast of the latest software development updates and technologies, be able to recommend and implement improvements to processes and systems.

• Compliance and Security:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in data management, security, and privacy within the Salesforce environment.

• Implement and maintain security controls and permissions within Salesforce to protect sensitive information and ensure system integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience

• Salesforce Platform Developer 2, Data Architect, and Experience Cloud certified

• Can communicate architecture plans, and constraints of the Salesforce platform

• Demonstrated proficiency in Apex/Lightning Web Components/SOQL

• 5 years of Salesforce development experience

• 5 years of experience configuring Salesforce using workflows, validation rules, Lightning Flow, business process automation, and data privacy / user management

• Ability to communicate architecture plans, capabilities, and constraints of Salesforce

• Understanding of integrating Salesforce with other applications

• Strong project management skills and ability to work with business users to extract requirements and communicate design plans

• Experience working in an Agile team

 Compensation and Benefits 

The annual salary for this position is $140,871 with a Total Compensation of up to $152,141 annually based on performance.

Location and Working Conditions 

This position will be based in Ava headquarters in Oakland, near BART. Ava's team has a hybrid approach inclusive of in-office and remote work. This role is expected to go into the office Tuesday, Thursday, and the first Wednesday of the month. We are not providing relocation or sponsorships currently.

Licenses/Certificates 

• Salesforce Platform Developer 2, Data Architect, and Experience Cloud certified

• Non Profit Cloud / Admin certifications are a plus

• Possession and continued maintenance of a valid class C California driver’s license or the ability to provide alternate transportation and a safe driving record.
