Maintenance Technician

Automation Personnel Services is looking for anexperienced Maintenance Technician to be part of a company based in Birmingham, AL.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for performing preventive maintenance in a steel pipe coating plant on all equipment products while following standard work methods and safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe. Pay Rate

Mid to upper $20’s depending on experience Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday, some weekends and overtime required Maintenance Technician - Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures.
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines;

following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

• Develop maintenance PM schedule and perform regular preventative maintenance
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and schedule
• Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies;

placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

• Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Instrumental in the installation of new production equipment and required infrastructure
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Assist with general plant operations and general plant repairs as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Maintenance Technician- Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or equivalent; Related degree from a technical college, a plus
• 3 years proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Average proficiency in mathematics
