Automation Personnel Services is Hiring a Director of Risk Management-Workers Compensation Near Birmingham, AL

Director of Risk Management Compensation
Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced Director of Risk Management to oversee the Workers' Compensation program for approximately 7,500 employees. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in our program's continued development and administration. This is an in-person position at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.
Salary
Base Salary $95K to $110K DOE
Director of Risk Management Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the Workers' Compensation program, managing claims, case management, and risk associated with a workforce of 7,500 employees.
  • Utilize executive presence and exceptional communication skills to collaborate with various branches and clients, fostering a consultative service and sales attitude.
  • Leverage negotiation skills to work with claims adjusters and legal counsel, minimizing claim costs.
  • Evaluate and enhance the overall effectiveness of risk management programs in alignment with national and industry standards.
  • Oversee captive insurance management, risk management, insurance practices, and claims management.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, insurance brokers, and clients.
Director of Risk Management Qualifications and Requirements
  • Proven leadership experience with executive presence.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to collaborate across various branches.
  • Quantitative, analytical, organizational, and financial management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in captive insurance management, risk management, and claims management.
  • Ability to communicate complex insurance issues effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of operational risk management experience.
  • 10 years of Workers Compensation claims experience.
  • Multi-state, employer-based claims management, and third-party administrator experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
