Autism Society of North Carolina in (Asheville, NC) is looking to hire part-time Behavior Technicians. This entry-level position earns a competitive wage of $18 - $23 based on experience, plus mileage reimbursement. If you want to become an RBT, we will pay for your training and certification! Additionally, if you are working toward becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will get to have weekly check-ins with your supervisors for support. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN
As a part-time Behavior Technician, you empower children, teenagers, and adults on the autism spectrum to be their best independent selves. Following a structured plan, you teach and support your participants in building various life skills, with support from a BCBA. Your days may be spent teaching important communication skills, how to play with peers, or other important life skills in the community, schools, or home, all with a focus on helping them achieve their goals. You also keep track of their progress by recording information during your sessions to help your supervisors make changes to care plans. You’ll love the rewarding feeling you get from seeing the direct impact you have in the lives and progress of the people you serve!
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to follow directions from supervisors
Experience working with people on the autism spectrum is preferred but not required. Are you trustworthy, patient, and respectful of others? Do you have strong communication and relationship-building skills? Are you eager to learn? If yes, you might just be perfect for this entry-level position in behavioral health!
FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE
This part-time entry-level position works a relatively flexible schedule typically Monday - Friday from 3:30 - 6:30. However, morning hours are available.
