Autism Community Alliance (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that welcomes all neurodivergent young adults (18 in age) interested in our vocational, recreational and social programming that fosters connections with families and communities in the DC metro area. Our programming is geared towards those that need close, direct personal care support to strengthen their independence with activities of daily living and communication.

We have had one Saturday respite session, but that is currently on hold till able to recruit more volunteers. The church has donated the use of their spaces and we will need to clear them out on a daily basis, at a minimum, for the church’s use on various days and Sundays.
Our programming is geared toward community engagement and our participants leave the church once or twice daily. Each participant aka “camper” will have a 1:1 personal attendant to help them with their daily activities. Our program activities include, but were not limited to: morning coffee/tea/hot chocolate social, daily walks, shopping for groceries, volunteering at food banks, group games, movement breaks, arts and crafts, cooking activities, eating at restaurants, going to movies and museums.
