World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding. WBL services its loan portfolio and loan portfolios for third parties, specializing in the management of non-performing loan pools and REO.

WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce. Working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time Monday through Friday. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language.

Position Overview

In a fast paced, high expectation, results oriented environment, the Asset Resolution Paralegal will be responsible for assisting Asset Resolution in-house counsel managing legal matters related to a portfolio of non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loans and REO. Core responsibilities include the development, implementation and monitoring (while working with Asset Resolution in-house counsel and outside counsel) of appropriate collection, loss mitigation and recovery strategies, weekly reporting and quarterly file analysis.

Essential Functions

• Monitor and report on all legal matters and litigation related to non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loan portfolio, including REO, toward most effective and efficient resolution
• Conduct proactive and effective case analysis in accordance with established performance standards
• Assist Asset Resolution in-house counsel with monitoring and managing commercial litigation/bankruptcy/foreclosure activities, functions and deadlines
• Liaise with Asset Resolution in-house counsel and outside attorneys, collection agencies and other vendors that support the loss mitigation effort
• Prepare case specific legal analysis and reporting for Asset Resolution in-house counsel
• Assist in legal budget and legal invoice tracking for the Asset Resolution Department
• Other projects and duties as assigned
