Austin Waldorf School is seeking experienced part-time tutors to join our referral list for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidates will have demonstrated success working individually with adolescents in grades 9-12, and have experience helping students with learning challenges.
Ideally, tutoring candidates will be familiar with or possess a strong interest in learning about Waldorf education. They will demonstrate a commitment to using a multi-sensory approach to mathematics and also have the ability to support written assignments across the humanities curriculum. Excellent organizational skills, clear communication, and a willingness to work closely with parents and the High School Student Support Coordinator are essential.
Parents who request tutoring for their children are referred to screened, experienced, candidates. Sessions with tutors are scheduled with parents, and have been held on campus, at a student’s home, at a public space such as a library, or via Zoom.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required, depending on experience. Current college students and AWS alumni are encouraged to apply. Candidates who can focus on one subject area, mathematics or humanities, or who can also support Middle School students should also apply. In addition, please share any science background.
