Situated in Downtown’s Second StreetDistrict, Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is the newest luxury lifestylehotel in Austin, just steps from Lady Bird Lake, the legendary Austin CityLimits music venue and nearby boutiques. With inspiring interiors by KellyWearstler and culinary offerings in collaboration with MML Hospitality, AustinProper offers 238 rooms and suites, a dedicated spa and fitness center, and9,500 square feet of meeting and event spaces, including a rooftop pool deckoffering small-batch tequilas and majestic lake views. Anything less justwouldn’t be Proper.

Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscinais a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexicancuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groupsconvene over family-style platters, ceviche, and table-top sizzling fajitas, freshseafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal.The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexicanspirits, small-batch tequila & mezcal, as well as an assortment ofoutdoor-friendly snacks.

Job Overview

As a Pool Server you will play a crucial rolein providing an exceptional dining experience to our guests. Your attention todetail, exceptional service skills, and ability to anticipate guest needs will contributeto maintaining the high standards of our establishment. This is a Seasonal position from April 1 - November 1

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly upon their arrival.
  • Assist in ensuring an efficient flow of guests tomaintain a smooth dining experience.
  • Thoroughly understand the menu offerings, includingingredients, preparation methods, and special features.
  • Offer knowledgeable recommendations and suggestionsto enhance the guest's dining experience.
  • Take guest orders accurately, including specialrequests or dietary restrictions, and communicate orders promptly to thekitchen staff.
  • Double-check orders before serving to ensure accuracyand completeness.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests' tables in anefficient and timely manner, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to servicestandards.
  • Provide attentive and personalized service throughoutthe meal, addressing guest inquiries and needs promptly.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and adhere tolegal drinking age regulations.
  • Keep tables clean, organized, and properly set withappropriate tableware, glassware, and utensils.
  • Clear empty dishes and used tableware promptly tomaintain a clutter-free environment.
  • Promote daily specials, seasonal offerings, andpromotions to guests, enhancing their dining experience and potentiallyincreasing revenue.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders,fellow servers, runners, and bussers to ensure seamless coordination of foodand beverage service.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure guest requests andmodifications are fulfilled accurately.
  • Anticipate guest needs and preferences to deliver apersonalized and memorable dining experience.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalateissues as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment,including regular sanitation of tables, chairs, and dining areas.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to ensurethe well-being of guests.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrate ability to add,subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows oneto solve work-related issues.
  • Uses basic computer hardwareand software.
  • Move, lift, carry, push,pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds withoutassistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for anextended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below theknees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to worknon-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather

Education & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Minimum two (2) years related hospitality and service experience
  • Active TABC and Food Handler’s certification
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
