Howdy! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician/OptometricTechnician to join our team. As an Optician, you will maily be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of optical systems and anatomy, along with excellent communication and sales skills. Other responsibilities will include greeting patients, performing pre-tests, verifying vision & medical insurance, answering phones, and various office admin duties (scanning, faxing, emailing). There is some degree of physical labor and cleaning responsibilities that are shared by the entire staff.

Responsibilities:

-Create long-lasting relationships with patients and customers

- Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses

- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features

- Recommend appropriate lens materials, coatings, and frames based on customers' needs

- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed

- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance

- Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses

- Maintain inventory of eyewear and optical supplies

- Provide exceptional customer service at all times

- Perform pre-tests and take case history before patients see the doctor

-Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, verify vision/medical insurance as needed

Experience:

- Previous experience as an Optician or working in an optical setting is preferred

- Knowledge of medical coding related to optical services is a plus

- Familiarity with optical systems, including lensometers, refractors, and other diagnostic equipment

- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy and common eye conditions and willingness or learn

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a retail environment. Should demonstrate high resistance to stress.

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy

Pay: $18.08 - $19.99 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week

Schedule:
