Our company is looking to hire a Trailer Tarp System Installer/ Mechanic to perform tarp installation and repairs on semi-trucks, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers. While we prefer someone who has technical training in mechanics and truck repair, we are willing to work with any mechanical professional who has knowledge of tarp system installation and repairs. Welding or fabrication experience is also a plus, as these techniques often come in handy when making repairs on trailers.

Trailer Tarp System Installer/ Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities

• Install tarp systems on semi-trucks, dump trucks and tractor-trailers
• Perform preventative maintenance on trailers
• Test equipment and systems for performance
• Perform repairs to tarp systems
• Replace tarp systems
• Document repairs
• Perform daily scheduled work for tarping systems.
• Communicate time schedule and additional repair work to counter sales desk.
• Maintain daily timecard and log for repair and maintenance activities performed.

Trailer Tarp System Installer/ Mechanic Qualifications:

• Previous auto mechanic experience helpful, but not required.
• Some electrical experience
• Worked on big rigs
• Welding experience 
• Use of power tools, impact guns and pneumatic rivet guns
• Knowledge of trucking vehicle mechanics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Electrical experience helpful, but not required.
• Deadline and detail-oriented.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in the use of handheld and other power tools.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, industrial equipment, power, and control devices.
• Understanding and proficiency in safe work practices including LO/TO, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
