Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is looking for Student Interns that can provide mental health services to our adult or older adult clients at our Forensics Outpatient program. This role provides outpatient therapy to individuals who are involved with the criminal justice system. The role also develops goals and learns different systems to increase likelihood of success in their recovery journey. The Student Interns provide individual, group, and couples therapy to our clients. You will come out of this internship with the confidence to do therapy and having skills in specific modalities and approaches. You will also be a part of a positive, diverse, and affirming team. This is a second year internship only.

About the team.

This team is supportive, adaptable and provides feedback and communication internally. The team goal is to collaborate and maximize each team members individual strengths to increase insight and development.

Schedule. Approximately 16 hours a week, and the days of the week are flexible. 

About you.

• Master's Level Student working towards a degree Counseling, Psychology or Social Work. Preferred completion of practicum clinical experience.
• Ideal candidate would be nonjudgmental, assertive, clear communication skills, and have a high ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion. Empathy and compassion are also necessary to effectively problem solve for the nontraditional clientele.

Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for the COVID 19 vaccine, annual flu shot or TB test.
