Auria is seeking a Senior Joint Staff Advisor to serve as an advisor to the Commander, Deputy Commander, and Chief of Staff, and staff officers of JTF-SD on both technical and administrative matters relating to the accomplishment, coordination and disposition of a variety of substantive staff actions and assignments. Work location is Schriever Space Force Base.
Duties require a broad and extensive knowledge of Combatant Command and Subordinate Joint Task Force management programs principles, missions and functions.
- Provides integration of staff actions to facilitate effective management of subordinate elements. Initiates and ensures effective communication, coordination and follow-up actions with subordinate elements, higher headquarters, other services and federal agencies, private companies and professional organizations.
- Provides, obtains, and/or advises on a variety of services essential to the direction and efficient operation of JTF-SD. Reviews Command programs and activities through reports prepared by headquarters staff, recommendations from subordinate echelons, and inspections by higher headquarters. Initiates or recommends actions to improve operations of the HQ, directorates or subordinate commands as necessary.
- Plans, develops, and executes the JTF-SDs administrative program.
- Responsible for effective management pertaining to day-to-day administration of JTF-SD information flow and staff processes in accordance with JTF-SD Correspondence Management Instruction. Ensures completeness and quality of staff support deliverables to the Commander, Deputy to the Commander, Chief of Staff, higher headquarters, and other U.S. Government agencies.
- Works with the Chief of Staff to develop, analyze, evaluate, and review projects relating to improving the effectives of work methods and procedures, manpower utilization, distribution of work assignments, and other agency administrative issues.
- Establishes command procedures to secure adequate control in terms of taskers, deadlines, progress reports, and directives. Establishes, reviews, and modifies tasking processes and procedures for the command.
- Develops guidance on techniques for management and methods improvement. Analyzes and reviews documentation procedures and controls, files, directives, forms, records control and disposal procedures and office automation.
- Reviews all correspondence entering and exiting the SJS office. Assist staff officers in matters pertaining to staff action procedures. Establishes internal procedures to secure adequate control in terms of taskers, deadlines, progress reports and directives. Develops and maintains professional contacts. Maintains complete understanding of USSPACECOM administrative procedures.
- Functions as JTF-SDs staff coordinator performing various functions and special projects relating to executive support activities.
- Analyzes problems to determine appropriate and necessary action and completes staff studies and other reports.
- Performs as the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) program manager ensuring timely and efficient completion of all internal and external taskers on TMT.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree and 12 years relevant experience, or a commensurate combination of education, training, and experience required
- Active TS/SCI clearance; ability to attain Special Access Program accesses
- Ability to take / pass counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
Salary Range: $120K - $160K
