With continued sustainable growth, specifically within our Ground & Underground Engineering Practice, we are delighted to share that we have an exciting opening within this Practice for an Associate, Engineering Geologist (12 years’ experience). At a high level this entails, project review, people and client engagement lead. This is a technical role with an emphasis towards leadership and commercials. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’. Support the strategic planning, design, and implementation of complex solutions to meet client needs and in line with our Aurecon Blueprint Bring specialist expertise in Slope Risk Assessments, development and technical review of concepts and options for slope remediation and preparation of construction documentation. Lead small to medium sized teams to deliver design packages in accordance with the agreed program and budget, with skills in people and team management, resolution of staff and resourcing schedules, interaction with internal and external stakeholders and meeting with the client regularly. Role model through your behaviours and decision making, which are aligned to a diverse and inclusive workplace; a leader who our people chose to follow and work with Assist with training and career development of emerging professionals in the Ground and Underground Engineering teams. Leads safe and sustainable design initiatives and drives compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. Recognised internally and externally as an expert in chosen area (Geotechnics or Engineering Geology). Demonstrates experience when dealing with complex technical issues. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. Some of the skills we are looking for (you don't need all of them for us to consider your application) 12 years professional experience in engineering consulting or similar, specialising in engineering geology. A tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology Registered Professional Geoscientist (RPGeo) from Australian Institute of Geoscientists (or equivalent), and applicants with full accreditation in Transport for New South Wales Slope Risk Assessment will be desirable but this is not essential. Experience in engineering geological assessments and design for infrastructure projects Experience in geological mapping, site investigations and detailed logging and sampling of soil and rock core. Experience in aerial photography interpretation. Experience in rock mass classification, slope risk assessments and ground support assessments. Good working knowledge of technical software, including familiarity with programs such as Leapfrog 3D, Dips, RocFall, Slide, Swedge and Unwedge. Think you know Aurecon? You may be surprised.
