- Schedule, train, and supervise personnel efficiently, with an eye on keeping overtime to a minimum on assigned shifts
- Comply with provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, (if applicable) including rules and regulations, assignment of overtime and attendance procedures
- Communicate with the Production Manager on all problems, both production and labor, to ensure efficient operations
- Maintain strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation, and Safety standards as well as investigate on-the-job accidents and assure compliance with Company policies and procedures
- Make minor formula changes to maintain product quality to the highest standards
- Make regular checks on production operations including HACCP checks and implement corrections as needed to maintain Company standards
- Prepare and maintain required production reports and records, ensuring accuracy
- Make sure that equipment is being operated properly, make corrections as needed, and report all equipment malfunctions to the maintenance department to ensure timely repairs have been made
- Follow up on reported equipment malfunction to ensure that effective repairs have been made
- Cooperate and coordinate with other departments of the company, particularly Maintenance, Shipping, and Sanitation
- Pursue ways to improve product quality, improve efficiency, and reduce operating cost
