Position Overview

As the Director of Product Management, you will oversee the planning, development, and execution of product strategies and roadmaps. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, sales, and client support to ensure seamless product delivery and superior user experience. Your expertise will be crucial in mentoring product managers, navigating complex product challenges, and aligning product goals with the company's business objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Vision: Developing and defining the long-term product strategy and vision. This includes identifying new opportunities for products or enhancements based on market research, competitive analysis, and feedback from clients and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Leading and managing a team of product managers. This involves training and mentoring staff, setting and tracking goals, and evaluating both team and individual performance.
  • Product Roadmap Development: Creating and maintaining the product roadmap, which outlines the priority and delivery of product features. This requires balancing priorities, managing resources, and aligning with the overall business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, including marketing, sales, engineering, and client support, to ensure product goals are met. This includes negotiating and influencing product decisions and strategies across the organization.
  • Market and Customer Research: Conducting and overseeing market research to gather insights about customer needs, market trends, and potential new markets. This information is crucial for making informed product decisions and setting our ideal target market.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of a product from inception to sunset. This includes planning for product launches, managing updates and enhancements, and making decisions about product discontinuation.
  • Performance Metrics: Setting and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of products and features. This helps in making data-driven decisions to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Addressing complex challenges that arise during the product development process and making strategic decisions to resolve them effectively.
  • Client Interaction: Engaging with key clients and stakeholders to gather feedback, understand their needs, and build strong relationships. This includes presenting at client meetings, industry conferences, and other events.

Preferred Skills:

Educational Background:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Extensive experience in product management, minimum five years, with a proven track record of successful product development and launches
  • Minimum two years of experience leading and managing teams, as well as working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams
  • Prior roles that progressively increase in responsibility, demonstrating the ability to handle complex product strategies and decisions

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies (like Agile and Scrum)
  • Minimum of 2 years working with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Minimum of 2 years working in data integration and analytics with a basic understanding of ETL processes, data science and machine learning concepts, and business intelligence standards
  • Ability to use or understand tools for project management, product design, and data analysis (such as JIRA, Confluence, Sketch, Figma, MaterialUI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong in collaboration and communication with technical leadership when translating business requirements and concepts

Business and Marketing Acumen:

  • Knowledge of market research, competitive analysis, and marketing strategies
  • Ability to develop business cases and conduct financial forecasting
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills to align product plans with business objectives

Communication and Leadership Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead teams, interact with stakeholders, and present ideas to senior executives and external clients
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to drive product decisions and strategies
  • Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment

Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously

Client-Centric Mindset:

  • Experience in client engagement and understanding user needs through feedback, interviews, and usability testing
  • Ability to translate client insights into product improvements and innovations
