The primary purpose of the Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) for Hospice and Palliative Care is to provide comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems of the hospice and palliative care patient population. The NP will integrate education, research, management, leadership, and consultation into a clinical role and function in collegial relationships to influence the health environment within the scope of practice permitted by state and federal laws and regulations, the professional code of ethics, and professional practice standards. Knowledge of symptom and disease management, psychosocial issues, family dynamics, and team processes are required in this position. The NP is committed to the philosophy, goals and objectives of Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care.
