Basic FunctionPerform a variety of routine and complex microbiology procedures using standard and specialized techniques and instrumentation on a wide variety of biological specimens in order to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Must also be able to determine which results are clinically relevant from various patient specimen sources.

Basic FunctionPerform a variety of routine and complex microbiology procedures using standard and specialized techniques and instrumentation on a wide variety of biological specimens in order to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Must also be able to determine which results are clinically relevant from various patient specimen sources.
Education, Training & Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of college with courses in chemistry, biology and mathematics and one (1) year formal training in a school approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
- MT (ASCP) preferred.
- The ability to follow instructions and do basic mathematical computations.
- Form perception is required to notice pertinent details of a specimen.
