Position Description
The Operating Room Assistant (ORA) is responsible for cleaning and terminal cleaning of the OR, PACU, and other assigned locations. This position is an integral part to support the model of care for inpatients and outpatients undergoing surgical procedures. The ORA is expected to assist with the daily operational flow to aide and assist the OR team in the delivery of patient care and efficiency of the unit. Functions under the supervision of the ORA Supervisor and OR leadership.

Position Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Must be able to read and write to comprehend written and oral instructions. Ability to work independently. Interpersonal skills. Must have ability to operate standard cleaning devices within safety compliance guidelines. Knowledge of aseptic technique and universal precautions.

Preferred Requirements
1 year or more of experience in Environmental Services. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
