The Nursing Excellence Coordinator is a key leadership role within the nursing administration team, responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of nursing excellence initiatives. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in achieving and maintaining Pathway to Excellence designation, promoting Shared Governance, managing nursing recruitment and retention strategies, monitoring nursing turnover rates, overseeing the creation and distribution of the nursing newsletter, and implementing meaningful recognition and award activities and programs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, MSN preferred.
• Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
• Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a practicing registered nurse or adult nursing educator.
• Professional Nursing Certification in area of specialty preferred (for example NPD-BC, NE-BC, CEN).
• Magnet or Pathway to Excellence experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Establishes annual goals and objectives while incorporating Pathway to Excellence standards.
• Responsible for the elements of Pathway to Excellence standards and its program.
  • Serves as a liaison to the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Oversees and organizes Pathway to Excellence committee structure and its activities.
  • Responsible for document creation, organization, and submission as required for the Pathway to Excellence guidelines.
  • Partner with marketing and nursing leadership on promotional events and communication related to Pathway to Excellence.
  • Effectively communicates with CNO and ACNOs on the progress of the program routinely.
  • Lead and coordinate the process of achieving and sustaining Pathway to Excellence designation.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and staff to implement evidence-based practices that align with Pathway to Excellence standards.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Pathway to Excellence criteria and facilitate the renewal process.
