MAJOR RESPONSIBILITYTo assist the manager in the operation of the school nutrition program in compliance with the guidelines set by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and the Virginia State School Food Service Office. QUALIFICATIONS• Demonstrated & successful performance in all aspects of the school nutrition program. • Proven track record of following all Augusta County School policies & procedures. • Proven ability to supervise, evaluate, & lead school nutrition employees • Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve menu changes, equipment issues, & staff shortages• SNA membership & certification recommended, but not required• Proven ability to work in a professional manner with the school community. Follows the chain of command appropriately. • High school diploma or GED is preferred; experience can substitute.• Proven track record of reliable attendance on the job. Proven record of punctuality. • Demonstrated ability to perform all physical aspects of the job (standing for long periods of time, ability to work in a fast paced environment, able to tolerate temperature extremes, & lift 50 pounds independently) • Experience with a HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point) program desirable. Demonstrated ability to keep hot foods hot & cold foods cold at the point of service.• Demonstrated ability to have accurate & up-to-date production records.• Proven track record of keeping an accurate food inventory.
