We are seeking a Cafe Coordinator to help oversee our new Cat Café! This role will be assisting the Café Manager in training staff, maintaining operations, providing food and beverage service and processing cat adoptions.

What you’ll be doing (as part of a team with training):
  • Training and operating as a Lead for a team of Associates and Animal Care Technicians in creating a welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Ensuring the care of animals within the café.
  • Manage all services in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Maintain health safety ratings and cleanliness of the facility at all times.
  • Promoting a positive image of the organization through excellent customer service.
  • Preparing food and beverages to order.
  • Scheduling and monitoring animal interactions.
  • Operating the point of sale system and cash register for purchases.
  • Licensing adopted animals.
What you’ll need to be successful (minimum requirements):
  • 1 years of retail experience; key holder status highly preferred.
  • Active and valid Washington State Food Worker Card required.
  • Cash handling and payment processing experience; including POS systems. High proficiency in learning new software systems.
  • Leadership:
    • Demonstrated experience in interacting a diverse staff in a positive, friendly, collaborative, and inclusive manner.
    • Ability to engage with animals and humans who may be having a hard day with a commitment to quality care.
    • Strong communication skills to demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, tact, compassion, and sound judgment to your coworkers and community members.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and/or stoop for entire shift / extended periods of time; hear sufficiently; regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends and be on-call as necessary.

  • This position works daily in a retail store. This position will come in direct contact with hostile individuals, waste and other undesirable sounds and smells. This position will come in direct contact with animals and will be exposed to animal related smells and sounds.
