Position Information
- Supervise the custodial services.
- Schedule work and ensure work complies with specifications.
- Monitor building services operations in compliance with local, state and federal codes and guidelines.
- Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff or assist with such processes. Complete required paperwork, maintenance records/work orders.
- Process leave requests.
- Assist with determining technical training needs.
- Assist and advise matters related to custodial services.
- Assist supervisor with special projects. Supervise the completion of special projects. Fill in for supervisor as needed.
- Deliver inventory and assess inventory needs in individual units.
- Assist other physical plant departments/units as necessary.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, custodial services, operations, and equipment Knowledge of inventory control techniques Knowledge of acceptable supervisory practices
- Knowledge of acceptable custodial and maintenance practices
- Skill in safety operating, maintaining, and repairing various types of custodial and cleaning equipment
- Skill in planning, organizing and overseeing the work of subordinates
- Skill in maintaining adequate supplies and inventory records
- Skill in conducting inspections to determine compliance with standards
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as deemed necessary
- Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write simple instruction
- Three (3) years of experience in custodial services
- Must be able to meet the University vehicle liability policy requirements and have a current driver’s license.
