Job Title: DC Power Engineering Manager

Location: West Chester, PA, 19380

Job Overview: We’re seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the development of specifications for DC power equipment installations in Central Offices. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of our power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establishing effective communication with clients.
• Conducting site assessments.
• Developing cost estimates.
• Drafting detailed installation guidelines.
• Determining material needs.
• Conducting cost analyses for materials and labor.
• Offering engineering support in the field.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of DC power plant engineering experience in a Central Office setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Familiarity with various original equipment manufacturers (e.g., GE, Eltek).
• Knowledge of various battery types (e.g., flooded, VRLA).
• Proficiency in customer standards, particularly those of AT&T and Verizon.
• Experience with customer databases (e.g., PowerPro, AMPEERS, GeoLink).
• Ability to work with rectifiers, controllers, inverters, converters, batteries, and secondary distribution to BDFB/BDCBB.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
• Strong PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Willingness to travel regionally.

Experience:

• Central Office Experience
• DC power plant engineering experience
• Telecom

Work Authorization: Green Card, US Citizen

Preferred Experience: Previous employment with Crown Castle, Black & Vetch, Bechtel, Mastech, or any Turf Vendor is preferable. Having dealt with AT&T and Verizon is a significant advantage.

Additional Notes:

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in implementing, configuring, and engineering AC/DC power within Central Offices.

The role involves managing 2-3 DC Power Project Engineers, conducting site surveys, creating quotes, drafting specifications, charging batteries, and building out steel/power racking.

The role requires 30-50% travel within the New England and mid-Atlantic area. Candidates with only AC power experience will not qualify for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
