Based in Cary NC, we are an early stage startup funded by top investors (YC), and composed of world-class scientists, a software guru, and a TEDx speaker.Job DescriptionWe seek a highly motivated Software Engineer who is passionate about developing software platforms that enable researchers to design and analyze new proteins and nucleic acids for future medical applications. This position offers an opportunity to work on extensive full stack software development and play a key role in our exciting initiative to develop a generative AI and geometric representation biomolecular modeling capability. You should be an execution-focused, self-starter, self-motivated, eager to collaborate with cross-discipline team members, curious about new science and technology, especially generative AI. ResponsibilitiesDevelop efficient, high-quality workflow automation software and data pipelines (Python fluency a must).Design, implement, and maintain scalable pipeline workflows to automate multi-step computing tasks required for various data analysis scenarios.Develop and maintain automated tests and monitoring processes to ensure successful pipeline execution and deployment.Assist product management in documenting system requirements, design, and troubleshooting.Provide technical support to end-users for pipeline deployment and execution.Work with the team’s machine learning expert to investigate state-of-the-art deep learning models for protein sequences and structures.QualificationsMS or BS Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative bioscience field.Experience with Python script for data analysis and visualization tools (numpy, pandas, Jupyter notebook, biopython) and workflow automation.Experience with Linux environments (shell scripting) and version control (git).Attention to detail, highly organized.Detail-oriented with the ability to gain a deep understanding of technical systems.Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for logical problem solving and innovative solutions.Preferences (but not required)Experience with deploying and optimizing M/L models with PytorchKnowledge of foundational biology of proteins and nucleic acids.Interested or experienced in using Machine Learning model in solve the most pressing issues Experience with pipelining tools (snakemake, nextflow) and containerized applications (docker).Proficient in database programming and SQL.Additional InformationWhat we offerA high-growth opportunity with meaningful impact.Great learning opportunity to build ML skills for solving real world problems.Competitive compensation package.Generous paid time off (PTO) policy.Commitment to physical and mental well-being.
