Atlas is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Finance Team as an Accounting and Payroll Analyst! The Accounting and Payroll Analyst will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, including timely and accurate payroll processing, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process employee payroll promptly and accurately while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including tax laws and wage and hour regulations.
  • Prepare journal entries accurately and in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Perform account reconciliations, resolving any outstanding items, including handling confidential payroll and benefits information.
  • Generate staffing and compensation analysis for management, providing valuable insights into payroll and benefits trends.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and analysis of financial outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating the annual compensation and benefits plan.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary data and supporting documentation.
  • Offer recommendations for enhancing operational processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee payroll inquiries.
  • Manage state and local employment tax registrations for multistate organizations.
  • Actively participate in special projects and fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting is required to be successful in this role.
  • 2-4 years of payroll processing in a mid-large organization, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
  • Experience with payroll software and proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in understanding payroll processes, including wage calculations, tax regulations, and compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll data.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with employees, management, and external agencies.
  • Critical thinking skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
