Overview:

Progressive Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their Logistics Team as a Dispatcher! The Dispatcher is responsible for serving as the point of contact for drivers, vendors, and customers during relocation of a shipment. This role ensures drivers have all pertinent information and follows up to ensure specifics are met. The incumbent must be able to work independently in reviewing the fleet to identify hauling solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign shipment/loads to drivers and ensure they have all pertinent information.
  • Accurately manage shipment updates, including participant notification and data entry.
  • The Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling home time to ensure the fleet remains productive and revenue is not compromised.
  • Coordinate with drivers to ensure they are available to run at least 9500 miles per month.
  • Ensure drivers are running their planned hours to maximize miles, revenue, and on-time pick-up and delivery.
  • Ensure all driver paperwork is submitted and accurate.
  • Ensure driver and equipment are compliant with Fleet and Safety.
  • Provide accurate and concise reports to management as assigned.
  • Responsible for dispatching random drug tests to drivers as part of DOT regulations and requirements.
  • Responsible for dispatching driver inspections.
  • Responsible for overseeing the t-check process and ensuring its accuracy.
  • Update the Driver Performance Record Program for all service issues.
  • Responsible for finding rental trucks, if necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
