Atlas Technical Consultants is Hiring an EIR Scientist Near San Antonio, TX

We are seeking an EIR Scientist 1 to join our San Antonio, Texas team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with conducting site investigation field activities, including but not limited to environmental site assessments, hazardous waste site investigations, and field sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water and stormwater).
  • Conduct data analyses and interpretation of field and analytical data.
  • Preparation of technical reports including but not limited to proposals, environmental reports, permit applications, work plans, and health and safety plans.
  • Perform assessments during regular and after hours depending on production schedules (potentially including nights and weekends).
  • Multi-task with strong priority assessment and decision making in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Successful candidate will also receive cross training and potential alternative assignments based on workload that might include conducting facility inspections and overseeing subcontractor work for compliance with contract documents.
  • Awareness of behavior-based safety culture, safety is a priority.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, Environmental Sciences, Geology, or other applied science,
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in the field, primarily related to environmental services,
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Good problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills, and
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an on-going basis.
  • A valid driver’s license and must be able to pass an MVR.
Technical Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position. (Examples include software such as CADD, GIS, gINT, and hydrologic/hydraulic models).
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus, can be completed upon hire.
  • Capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
Other Miscellaneous Requirements:
  • Ability to regularly travel to field work locations. Some assignments may require up to a week out of town (Per diem provided.) Hours may vary, typically up to 8 hours, field work may require 8–12 hour shifts depending on assignment.
  • Must have ability to work in ambient environments for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain missing certification within 6 months of hire.
