We are seeking a Materials Testing Technician (Field Technician 2) to join our Burlington, NJ team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform Field Observations and Materials Sampling/Testing during Construction of Buildings, Bridges and Roadways. Perform testing on construction materials including, Soils, Reinforcing Steel, Concrete, Masonry, Structural Steel, Fireproofing, Metal Decking, Roofing and Paving.
  • Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents.
  • Cast Field Samples of Concrete, Masonry, Grout, etc. for strength verification.
  • Provide Daily Phone Calls to Department Manager to inform of Daily progress of the project.
  • Pick-up construction material samples and deliver to laboratory, deliver equipment to site technicians.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have ACI/ICC Certification.
  • Must have a minimum of a high school education and 5 years’ relevant experience or Associates/Technology Degree and 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, dependable transportation.

Technical Requirements:

  • ICC Certified as Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, Structural Masonry Special Inspector, Soils Special Inspector, Spray Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector, Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector, Precast Concrete Special Inspector, Structural Steel & Welding Special Inspector, ACI Field Technician Level I or II, NICET Level III or IV, NJSAT Plant Level II and / or Field Certification
  • Troxler or compatible Nuclear Gage Certification
  • NJDCA Certified Concrete Placement/Reinforced Concrete/Masonry Special Inspector.
  • Possess physical strength, stamina, and dexterity for repeatedly lifting and moving, stooping, bending, climbing and standing in varying weather conditions at various remote construction sites with varying terrain.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Adhere to Atlas and site-specific safety standards.
  • Ability to travel to local and occasionally out of town sites, with short notice.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and directions as well as project specifications & plans.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and on project teams.
