As a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive counseling and support services to individuals struggling with addiction. Leveraging your expertise in substance abuse treatment and counseling techniques, you will assess client needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and social support systems to determine treatment needs and goals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based practices and addressing co-occurring disorders, trauma, and other underlying issues.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
• Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and life skills development.
• Monitor and evaluate client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate integrated care and support services for clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, including confidentiality, boundaries, and cultural competence, in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
• Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in the field of addiction treatment and recovery, participating in ongoing training and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

• Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification in New York
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working in substance abuse treatment or mental health counseling settings
• Strong understanding of addiction dynamics, recovery principles, and evidence-based treatment approaches
• Excellent counseling and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic alliances with clients

Please note- The annual base salary range is $25/hr to $30/hr. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
