Job Summary:

The Claims Advocate facilitates policyholders during the claim process by ensuring all claims are managed and the payment for valid claims is made fairly to the policyholders. Further, this role coordinates the services required by the policyholder following an accident or incident and acts as communication liaison between the policyholder and external experts such as the claims adjuster, loss control, legal departments, and contractors.

Responsibilities:

· Process new claims notifications for Commercial Lines.

· Collect accurate documents to proceed with a claim.

· Guide policyholders on how to proceed with a claim.

· Provide advice on making a claim and the process involved.

· Analyze coverage to answer policyholder questions.

· Monitor the progress of the claim.

· Build relationships with adjusters and claims department personnel at the carriers.

· Handle complaints associated with the claim.

· Ensure the policyholder is treated fairly and receives superior customer service in accordance with industry standards.

· Ensure fair settlement of valid claims.

· Identify reasons for the amount of the claim through detailed analysis.

· Input and attach all claim information to the agency management system.

· Provide claim review summaries for renewal meetings as requested.

· Meet with producers and account managers to provide reports and claims updates.

· Be familiar with carrier claims procedures.

· Meet on-site for risk reviews and provide feedback to policyholders and Atlas team.

· Adhere to and comply with established agency procedures and standards of performance and service.

· Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.

· Various projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and abilities:

· Must be detailed oriented, organized, empathetic, warm, and caring.

· Strong time management, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, computer, written and math skills.

· Claims adjuster 5-20 or 2-20 license.

· Strong insurance knowledge.

· Insurance claims or adjuster experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
