The Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director for Digital Strategies.

Founded in 1978, the ASUN is a Division I Conference headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, that includes twelve (12) full member institutions situated across seven (7) states in the southeast region of the U.S. With over 18 million homes within its footprint, ASUN institutions are collectively on the rise, seeing record enrollment numbers and population growth while representing several of the largest markets and most popular destinations in the country.

The Assistant Director for Digital Strategies is a full-time position that will report to the Associate Commissioner for Digital Strategies with a primary focus on social and digital media.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Assist the Associate Commissioner for Digital Strategies in the continued development and execution of the ASUN Digital Strategies (social media) Plan, including analysis of relevant analytics, and in fulfilling ASUN Communications needs (Sports Information).
• Primary responsibility for maintaining the conference’s main and ancillary social media platforms in alignment with the ASUN Digital Strategies Plan.
• Create content (written, graphic, photo, video) for distribution in support of the ASUN Digital Strategies Plan.
• Work with campus correspondents to identify story ideas and produce content to increase interactions and interaction rates.
• Assist in building production templates for use in ASUN Communication elements (such as weekly awards, preseason awards, postseason awards, highlights of the week, games of the week, etc.).
• Assist with sponsorship and partnership fulfillment, in support of the External Team goals and objectives.
• Responsible for updating website and social media analytics reports.
• Responsible for collaborating with the Director for Video Content to produce a comprehensive multimedia strategy.
• Serve as the primary media relations contact for assigned sport(s), providing game day coverage and website updates.
• Update and report standings, statistics, and record books as assigned.
• Assist in Player of the Week selections.
• Conduct on-camera interviews with student-athletes and coaches.
• Assist in building and updating sport-specific ASUN Championship web pages.
• Travel to and provide on-site digital strategies and communications support for ASUN championships as assigned.
• Other and/or alternate duties as assigned by the Commissioner.

  Minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in social and digital media including X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and/or other digital media platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience in graphic design, video production, and/or website management.
  • Ability to anticipate and execute new forms of digital content and the use of new platforms.
  • Ability to relocate to Jacksonville, Florida.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
  • A willingness to travel and work extended hours (nights and weekends) as necessary.
