Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that equipment is in good working order, and fully operational for clients to rent on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
  • Performing preventative maintenance, oil and lubricating of equipment.
  • Working within a team, to ensure that all the daily check-in/check-out's are completed.
  • Troubleshooting breakdowns in the shop, over the phone and sometimes on the road.
  • Identifying unsafe actions, conditions or equipment on a daily basis and reporting or addressing the issues.
  • Reporting all injuries and accidents immediately.

Specific Duties:

  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's’ specifications
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, schematics and technical drawings
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears
  • Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools
  • Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent
  • Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and observe situations and obtain information from all sources to evaluate steps toward the best solution

Requirements

Experience Requirements:

· Minimum 2 years of Service Technician related experience with construction related equipment

· Effective communication skills, with both internal personnel and outside customers and clients

· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

· Excellent organizational skills, in particular attention to detail

· Ability to multi-task
