Job Details: The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the dermatologist who he/she works with. When her physician is not in the office, he/she is also responsible for assisting other physicians and co-workers in the office.

Direct Supervisor: Clinical Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interview and room patients and document basic medical history
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Update and file medical records
• Assist multiple physicians
• Keep patients updated with results
• Prepare and assure all prescriptions are accurate
• Complete prior authorizations for patients
• Assist during medical examinations
• Assist in minor surgical procedures
• Stocking of supplies
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments

· Record medications and allergies

· Screen patients for allergies, current medications, and medical history

· Prepare for biopsies, procedures and injections

· Provide wound care education to patients

· Field phone calls from patients

· Ensure minor procedure operating rooms and exam rooms are clean

· Stocking of supplies

· Replace sharps containers as needed

· Removal of biohazardous material from patient rooms

· Check expiration dates of medications and sutures monthly

· Notify supply staff to order items in short supply

· Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
