JOB GOAL: To plan, coordinate, and implement the District adopted Language Arts Literacy Program and Curriculum. Responsible for the Language Arts Literacy professional development of individuals designated as school-based Teacher Literacy Coaches, as well as classroom teachers assigned to the teaching of Language Arts. To analyze data in order to modify curriculum and forms of assessment to meet students’ language arts literacy needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in education with emphasis on reading and language arts.
• Valid New Jersey Department of Education teaching certificate.
• Prefer training requirement from equivalent higher institute of learning.
• Minimum of five (5) years of teacher coaching experience in language arts literacy.
• Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in language arts literacy at the K-8 level.
• Prefer, experienced working with adult learners.
• Prefer, successful completion of training in Reading Recovery.
• Exhibits strong knowledge of the language arts literacy curriculum and the preparation of daily lesson plans.
• Demonstrates significant experience with language arts literacy instructional classroom strategies, student academic assessment, remediation activities/strategies, data use, and analysis interpretation.
• Displays strong communication, problem solving, collaborative, organizational, and writing skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to deliver staff development initiatives and programs.
• Exhibits the ability to initiate and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrates highly proficient language arts literacy and technology skills to implement the application of technology across the language arts literacy curriculum.
• Demonstrates familiarity with the New Jersey Standardized Assessments test specifications for Language Arts Literacy.
• Displays commitment to self-reflection and learning.
• Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
