Atlanta Paving and Concrete Construction, Inc. is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

JOB DUTIES:

• Communicate information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner and engage in effective two-way communication with individuals and groups;
• Occasionally required to work overhead or while leaning over equipment or engine;
• Exposure to heavy traffic areas;
• Exposure to dust, grease, diesel fumes and noise;
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance;
• Occasionally exposed to loud noise;
• Move and position heavy objects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years experience (minimum);
• Hydraulic and electrical knowledge is a must;
• Computer experience with reading diagram and schematics along with using laptop to diagnose equipment;
• General knowledge of:
  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR);
  • Emissions control systems such as Regen, diesel particulate filter (DPF), diesel exhaust fluid (DEF); foundation; air; anti-lock braking systems (ABS); and direct current (DC) electrical systems
• Understanding the importance of diagnostic and repair versus parts replacement;
• Possesses set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties and a locking toolbox to secure tools;
• Proficient computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems;
• Proficiency in reading (8th grade level) and interpreting a variety of documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form;
• Proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
• Proficiency in solving practical and complex problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
• Possesses strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment in awkward positions and access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance and lift up to 50 lbs
• Excellent customer service mindset balanced with achieving business priorities/goals;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Understanding the implication of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
• Ability to work independently Physical Demands / Work Environment: · Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, lift and/or move (up to 50 pounds), bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, sit, climb (up to 25 feet in height), balance, talk, hear, and smell;
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
