We're the Atlanta Interventional Institute/Atlanta Fibroid Center, an Interventional Radiology specialty medical practice that specialized in treating uterine fibroids as well as other procedures utilizing embolization. Our practice has a state-of-the-art lab with equipment rarely seen outside of a hospital environment! Our busy practice is growing and we have an immediate need for a Surgery Scheduler.

Candidates must have prior experience scheduling procedures in a specialty or sub-specialty outpatient environment. Just like most specialty and sub-specialty procedure-based private practices, before we can schedule the procedure, we must pre-certify and validate the patient's insurance coverage and cost-sharing obligations such as co-payment, deductible, and co-insurance. Once this information is collected, we often speak to the patient while they are visiting our office for a consultation to provide them with this information and schedule the procedure at the patient's convenience. The person who fills this role will be responsible for insurance verification and pre-certification, presentation of the information to the patient, and scheduling the procedure. This position is part of a team and can count on the support of their teammates to help them at every turn.

• Proven experience working with third party payers to verify insurance and determine pre-procedure and pre-visit requirements
• Proven experience negotiating with third party payers for authorizations and/or pre-determinations
• Proven experience overturning pre-certification denials
• Proven experience working directly with patients ( including face-to-face ) patients to counsel them and explain their plan benefits, their insurance carrier's requirements and plan driven cost-sharing
• Proven experience working directly with patients (including face-to-face) patients to counsel them on available financial arrangements such as payment plans
• Proven experience working with payers as a patient advocate to reduce pre-certification delays or denials.
• Knowledge of current ICD-10 and CPT coding including the use of modifiers, as well as bundled and unbundled codes
• Strong desire to be a part of a proactive team that's dedicated to helping patients receive the care they require
