Atlanta Interventional Institute is Hiring a Medical Billing-Claim Denial Specialist Near Smyrna, GA

The Atlanta Interventional Institute; Atlanta Fibroid Center, an Interventional Radiology medical practice that specializes in treating uterine fibroids, along with several other procedures focused on embolization. Our services feature consults and in-office procedures. We boast a state-of-the-art procedure suite with with equipment rarely seen outside of a hospital setting.

Our practice is growing and we're seeking to add a claims specialist to our billing team.

This position requires industry specific expertise and only those candidates with a background in medical billing and revenue cycle can be considered.Preference will be given to those candidates who have worked with a practice that includes both evaluation and management and in-office procedures.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency working directly and proactively with insurance carriers to verify insurance benefits, appeal claim denials, monitor pending claims, and work directly with both payers and patients to collect payment information. The right candidate will also be comfortable speaking with patients about insurance carrier requirements and collecting balances due as a result of co-payment; co-insurance; deductible; out-of-network services.

The focus of this position is reviewing claims and claim denials to ensure that the claim was processed correctly by the carrier and identifying those claims that require an appeal. This position will be responsible for actively initiating the appeal process. As a part of team, the right candidate will have a thorough knowledge of medical billing and insurance requirements and will be a proactive and fearless advocate for the physician.

The position will be located on-site at our main office in Smyrna, Georgia.


Billing/Claims Specialist position reports directly to the Billing Supervisor. The focus of this position is optimizing claims processing along with prompt and accurate claim payment.


Requirements in
clude:

  • Proven prior experience working claim denials from third party payers, both commercial and government-sponsored.
  • Work history demonstrating reliability, stability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a proactive and assertive approach to claim management, especially claim disputes and appeals.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working directly with payers to optimize payment and reduce write-offs
  • Proven experience reviewing EOBs and ERAs for accuracy regarding: payment/co-payment/coinsurance/OON benefits.
  • Thorough understanding of prior authorization and pre-certification requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and generate revenue-cycle related reports in order to spot trends and create projects
  • Ability to speak with patients and explain benefits in an educative and compassionate manner.
  • Desire to work as a part of a team to reach financial goals.
