We are looking for a full-time Enrichment Coordinator for the Dementia Resource Center (DRC) program. Through education, support, enrichment, and care, the Dementia Resource Center is committed to guiding care partners and those living with dementia through the dementia journey. The DRC Enrichment Coordinator will work to build an engaging and inclusive community for care partners and persons living with dementia through fulfilling enrichment activities, leisure, and social events. This enrichment programming will help provide the joy and meaningful connections needed to navigate this new chapter.

Essential Responsibilities:

· The design, coordination, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive, person-centered dementia-friendly enrichment program that:

o Includes fitness, education, evidence-based programming, and social activities with the purpose of maintaining and improving health outcomes and participant engagement and addressing the emotional needs of participants. Clientele will represent a wide variety of backgrounds, interests, abilities, and communications styles.

o Involves group activities for persons living with dementia and care partners.

o Includes activities that can be adapted and modified to ensure each participant is appropriately supported to be fully engaged, regardless of diagnosis and perceived abilities.

o Takes place at ACCA, local community spaces, and centers in surrounding counties.

· Working with the DRC director to manage day to day operations, including developing a programming registration process, ensuring classes, activities and events run smoothly, welcoming guests, setting up rooms, and tracking class participation.

· Communicating enrichment program information, enrolling participants with necessary paperwork, conducting follow-up assessments, and providing program orientations.

· Supporting participant retention and satisfaction through a compassionate approach, supportive environment, and ongoing communication, including face-to-face contact, emails, and phone calls.

· In conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator and DRC Director, implementing the recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, and recognition of DRC student interns and volunteers, including the recruitment of qualified volunteer and/or professional instructors to assist in the implementation and facilitation of dementia-friendly enrichment programming.

Essential Requirements:

· We stay busy but like to have fun! A great sense of humor is a must! This position demands comfort with working with a wide variety of people and providing individualized, high-quality person-centered support.

· Public speaking skills and the ability to network with the public are required. Comfortable talking about and educating others on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to communicate with and engage individuals with different communication styles, including those living with dementia.

· Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Recreation Therapy, Education, Social Work, or other health-related field.

· Experience developing and managing health and wellness programming, preferably in working with older adults or individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.

· Successful experience in developing and maintaining community partnerships and collaborations.

· Valid Georgia Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Must be able to drive agency vehicles to transport DRC participants to some trips, outings, and special events.

· Must be available some evenings and weekends.
