Athena Care is Hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Near Clarksville, TN

At Athena Care, our mission is to improve access to quality mental health care so that people can live happier, healthier, more productive lives. Our vision is to create the leading mental health services platform in Tennessee and neighboring states.

Athena Care provides comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults across middle Tennessee. Services include diagnostic assessment, medical management, psychotherapy, and interventional psychiatry, such as TMS and Spravato. Founded in 2001, Athena Care is “in-network” with most major insurance plans.

We would love to connect with PMHNPs in the middle TN area to discuss opportunities in Clarksville and Hendersonville (a huge plus if open to splitting time between these locations). Candidates must be licensed in the state of Tennessee, eligible to participate in all third-party payor plans, and able to pass a background check.

  • Talented and dynamic clinicians who enjoy working with a diverse patient population and are dedicated to providing a high quality of care for their patients.
  • Prior experience working as a PMHNP is preferred, but we are also open to candidates just starting their PMHNP practice but who have prior psychiatric experience as an RN, therapist, etc.

  • A set weekday schedule with minimal on call obligations, PTO, and holidays off.
  • A hybrid schedule once your patient base is established and supports scheduling full telehealth days.

Core Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation and counseling to Individuals.
  • Prescribe medications as appropriate.
  • Document services provided In the electronic medical record (EMR) consistent with standards of practice, internal policies of Athena Care, and HIPAA or other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate licensure, supervision, and continuing education requirements In a manner consistent with standards of practice.
  • Maintains knowledge of current standards of care and research In the field; applies knowledge to Improve practice and provision of care.
  • Adheres to appropriate practice guidelines in provision of care.
  • Must be eligible to participate in commercial Insurance networks and Medicare.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required.
  • 2 years experience as PMHNP preferred, but newly licensed clinicians with prior psychiatric nursing or therapy experience are also welcome!

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current, valid APRN license with specialty training in psychiatry issued by the state of TN required.
  • ANCC board certification required.
  • Current, valid DEA registration required.
  • Special areas of focus (I.e. children/adolescents) preferred.

Physical Requirements

This is an office-type role with primarily sedentary job duties and limited reaching, pulling, pushing, or carrying.
