SUMMARY: Mold and Melt Operators (recognized internally as M Operators) are responsible for melting and/or molding operations within the organization. There are three levels of M operators, with various and advancing levels of skill and knowledge throughout the levels. Job functions throughout the M levels include, but are not limited to, melting aluminum to appropriate specifications, castings parts in low pressure and/or tilt pour machines. Other organizational functions outside of molding and melting are recognized in higher levels of the M function. The three levels of skills and mastery are outlined in the M Development Plan (AMT***). M operators are able to advance through various levels in the M function as skills, knowledge, and capabilities allow, as well as the need to meet organizational needs.
