ATC Healthcare is currently seeking experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) with OPWDD Experience

Position Overview:

• We are seeking dedicated and experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with specialized expertise in working with individuals under the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) regulations. The ideal candidates will be compassionate, patient, and skilled in providing personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position plays a critical role in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Support: Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort at all times.
• Personalized Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including but not limited to grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, as needed.
• Medication Management: Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately in compliance with OPWDD regulations and agency policies.
• Behavioral Support: Implement behavioral support plans and strategies to address challenging behaviors effectively, promoting positive outcomes and individual growth.
• Assessment and Documentation: Conduct assessments, document client progress, and maintain accurate records of observations, incidents, and interventions in accordance with OPWDD standards.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, clinicians, and case managers, to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs and preferences of each client.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies, crisis situations, and medical issues promptly and appropriately, following established protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 Years Experience working with elderly clients and people with special needs in OPWDD settings
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions under OPWDD regulations.
• 3 to 5 Years of DSP experience, OPWDD experience preferred.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel)
• SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention)
• CPR or BLS (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) - (Basic Life Support)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver's License and Reliable Transportation.
• Fluent in spoken English.
