Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our growing Analytical Development team. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving existing as well as new analytical methods to characterize T cell therapy products across the Atara T-cell platform. The individual is expected to perform experiments, data analysis, interpret results and write reports with a high degree of independence. This role will author, review, and edit test-method SOPs, method development reports, qualification protocols, and transfers methods. Cross functional collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory division is critical for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assay development, optimization, troubleshooting and qualification of cell therapy products utilizing flowcytometry, immunoassays, and molecular methods
• Independent execution of experiments and documentation of laboratory procedures with great attention to detail
• Support tech transfer activities of analytical methods for internal and/or external QC testing laboratories.
• Author and review Test Methods, summarize results, draft reports

Qualifications

• PhD in Biological Sciences with 1 years’ Industry experience OR MS with 4 years’ industry experience OR Bachelor’s with 8 years’ industry experience
• Demonstrate a strong skill set, knowledge and experience in assay development and optimization utilizing flow cytometry, ELISA, and molecular methods
• Analytical method development experience with cell and/or gene therapy products
• Working knowledge with statistical analysis tools (JMP) and methods including Design of Experiment (DOE) studies
• Expert level proficiency in cell-based and immunoassay development is required
• Knowledge and experience working with T-cell and viral transduction is essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic understanding of GLP, GDP and GMP requirements
• Experience with nucleic acid extractions and ddPCR will be a plus.
