Job Summary

The Manager of Distribution Operations is a process and team leader responsible for assisting the DC’s with the development of current business capabilities and enabling the pathway for successful deployment of new processes and systems within Supply Chain. They will work closely with the DC’s on process improvement and efficiency gains. The role will require extensive collaboration between the DC’s, supply chain and other key partners. They will lead the team through change management and implementation of strategic initiatives while improving the operational excellence of the DC’s and supply chain. The role will require overseeing both current and future business process - improving automation, increasing capacity, improving quality and reducing cost within Supply Chain. This position requires extensive hands-on experience and business acumen in the development of large-scale Business and Systems processes within ERP (Supply Chain) that promote the growth of the company and assures the Supply Chain scalability for a fast growing company.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives through benchmarking, best practice adoption, process transformation and quantification of business process controls
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensures close collaboration and alignment on functional key performance indicators 
  • Identifying, defining, realizing and tracking the benefits and outcomes required of the program
  • Taking the lead on transition management, ensuring that business as usual is maintained during the transition and the changes are effectively integrated into the business
  • Leading the activities associated with benefits realization and ensuring that continued accrual of benefits can be achieved and measured after the program has been completed
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develops the methods and reporting capability to establish accountability across the Supply Chain and finance organizations 
  • Supports Logistics and Supply Chain interaction with other functional areas 
  • Leads by building strong relationships, and being committed to the growth of individuals on the team and leads by example
  • Develop and measure KPI’s
  • Perform As-Is process mapping, Gap analyses, To-Be process design, benchmarking, and similar re-engineering analysis 
  • Must understand cross functional areas such as Order Management, Distribution and Logistics, Component Sourcing and Manufacturing
  • Analyze P&L impacts of strategic projects, present findings to senior leadership
  • Innovate internal company and collaborative processes via improvement projects with lean and agile methodologies 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • 2-5 years Supply Chain experience in warehousing, distribution, and supply chain environments
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong project management, analytical and interpersonal skills required
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and generate results 
  • Proven ability to influence others and drive meaningful change results 
  • Ability to make decisions, give direction, provide coaching, and measure individual/team performance 
  • Experience with financial analysis and budget preparations
  • Ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs and tables of information and to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to achieve team goals and complete assignments within established deadlines 
  • Experience with LEAN principles and 5S is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to establish timelines, financial and operational goals and drive cross-functional teams to deliver against these goals in a fast paced work environment
  • Clear communicator who can take complex concepts and boil them down to simple, executable plans
  • Experience in standards driven process and lean processes
  • Proven exposure to warehouse management systems and enterprise management systems and how they integrate within a growing organization 
  • Able to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
