Director, Sr. Counsel, Legal - Corporate Affairs

The role of Sr. Counsel, Legal - Corporate Affairs is a full-time attorney position within Asurion’s Legal Corporate Team and has responsibility to support global corporate governance, transactions and general corporate compliance matters. Sr. Counsel, Legal - Corporate Affairs will provide day-to-day support for Asurion’s tax, finance, compensation, treasury, human resources, product and client services teams, including facilitating discussions designed to consistently provide cross-functional communication and guidance for activities requiring legal support.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic project leader, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong time management and prioritization skills, and prior corporate legal experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides support for corporate finance, equity transactions and related matters, corporate governance (including all subsidiary management activity) and corporate compliance matters
• Works to support internal client needs, and act as a liaison and brokers creative solutions for relevant stakeholders
• Develops a thorough understanding of Asurion’s business, processes and goals to provide innovative legal solutions that solve unique or challenging problems
• Establish strong collaborative relationships with cross functional team, including legal, finance, HR and project management team members
• Demonstrates good analytical skills and judgment to evaluate factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations
• Act as a trusted advisor and leader to drive results/complete transactions & projects efficiently and effectively
• Actively seeks operational understanding and implications of initiatives and implements process improvements to streamline support

Qualified:

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the bar
• 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Experience in corporate transactions, governance and equity-related matters
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively understand, consider and address the internal client or business while mitigating risk exposure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess strong judgment, confidence, collaborative problem-solving skills, and ability to spot potential issues quickly
• Must be able to independently handle a variety and number of legal matters with minimal supervision
• Schedules and prioritizes work and deliverables to ensure on-time response to a large variety of changing demands/requests/requirements
• Highly organized and driven to thoroughly understand the issue and the possible implications of legal guidance
